”We had an amazing time. Every single member of staff we spoke to from the reception staff, bar staff and breakfast ataff were awesome. We didn't eat in the restaurant of an evening but we had breakfasts on 2 days and what we had was delicious. John the manager was lovely and his support team were excellent. ”A brief stay for one night. Spacious room, nicely equipped. Breakfast service was quite slow and the buffet was certainly lacking options, disappointing considering the price. Pineapple the only fruit, no milk available for cereal, had to ask for it. You have to order toast. Very small sausage on the full English but it was tasty. Would be great if they could have a little more urgency in future.”

A mixed bag, but would return

"The first impression of the hotel is not very favourable at the moment (February 2025); the main entrance is under renovation so entry happens through a narrow stairway with two-way traffic (that is often ignored by other guests). It feels like entering a casino through a back door. I'm sure things will be improved once the main entrance renovations are completed. I was a bit nervous about the elevator situation due to complaints in previous reviews, but I had no problems at all in that regard. The Executive King room was spacious, clean and pleasant. No complaints whatsoever. The water pressure in the shower was adequate and the water was very hot. The complimentary snacks were a nice touch. The breakfast was odd. Very poor selection if you need protein in the morning! There were scrambled eggs but no bacon, sausages or beans. The rest was mostly baked goods. We ended up skipping the breakfast after the first day, even though it was included in the Executive room rate. As others have mentioned, the hotel seems to be very popular with Middle Eastern guests, which perhaps explains the lack of pork options at breakfast. All of the signs are in English and Arabic. The service was just "fine"/average. Nothing up, nothing down. I'm a bit surprised by the glowing reviews naming specific staff members, as none provided us with exceptional service. There was no bellhop service offered. Due to the pleasant room and great location of the hotel, I would be happy to return."

"Tavistock Hotel isn’t luxurious and shows signs of its age, but it has a lot of charm. The location is superb, within a walking distance of almost everything. We stayed on the 6th floor and the room was relatively quiet. It could have been bigger though. The shower was slightly inconvenient with a fixed showerhead too high, and the lighting in the room was impractical. However, the (twin) beds were comfy as were the pillows. Breakfast was ample and also contained vegetarian options. I would definitely stay again. "

"Kerrassaan erinomainen majoitus! Hyvä hinta-laatusuhde. Meillä oli ikkunallinen 2 sängyn huone tilavalla kylppärillä. Sopi mainiosti 3 yön majoitukseen. Hotellissa myös aamiainen lisämaksusta - kiitos runsaasta hedelmävalikoimasta. Sijainti sopiva jos lento Stanstediin ja sieltä junalla Liverpool Streetin asemalla, lyhyt kävelymatka hotellille. Ihan nurkan takana Spitalfields Market kauppoineen ja ravintoloineen. Lämmin suositus! "
