The city is lovely, and four hours is more than enough to explore it. We booked the guided tour, but wish we booked the self guided one, because we felt the guide did not really show us anything special only the popular attractions and his english was not the best eather. Overall we liked the tour, we had one hour guided tour and three hours free time. Both the guide and driver were friendly.

Doing the guided tour and paying a little bit extra for it is worth it, in my opinion. It was interesting to learn about the buildings and the history of the city, whilst also helping to break up the day. Sofia is nice but Plovdiv has a lot more going on, so definitely don't miss out!

I had a great time on this day trip. Our guide, Raliza, was awesome! She's kind, knowledgable, and did a great job making everyone feel included and comfortable. The only feedback I have (for the company) - it seemed like there was a couple on the trip who requested an audio guide in a non-English language and were having difficulty understanding some of the instructions. It seemed like the instructions were also sent to them in English. Perhaps it would make sense to send the instructions in the language the audio guide was requested in, that way they fully understand what to expect from the tour and how to follow the audio guide. Raliza did a great job trying to help them navigate the issue, even though they weren't a part of the guided tour group :)
