”A true gem. This is my new go-to place for the first (and second) night in Cape Town. Most international flights arrive in the early morning and commercial downtown hotels do not let you check in before 3 pm. Most of us are exhausted. So make your way to Franschhoek against traffic and stop at some wineries on the way. Then rest at La Fontaine. Many fine restaurants within 0.5 miles. Lovely breakfast and exceptional service.”

”A lovely boutique hotel, down a quiet side street but close to the main road, with great staff. Max greeted us on arrival and was always checking to make sure we were happy. He also gave an excellent recommendation for dinner. Our room was a good size and the bathroom was supplied with spa products which were very nice and available to buy. Free coffee was always available and supplemented by cake of the day in the afternoon. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice on offer.”

”Nuwerus was one of the "fortunate" yet "unfortunate" places in Paarl that was "hit" hard with the recent fires. It was so close to the main buildings that I can only descibe it as hair-raising. Yet although you can see the fire damage to the gardens etc the service was once again spot-on and the facilities as clean and well appointed as we are used to. The owners really does care about the customers as well as the property. Well done is all I can say. Already booked my next stay.”

”Lovely people, comfortable, outside hottub was fab, breakfasts made to order, really large bathroom. The only thing was the tech which doesn't work and needs to be ditched. It's a gimmick which doesn't add to the experience- not pleasant having music in the room going on in the middle of the night having had no explanation of what to do to stop it. All in all though very much to be recommended.”

”Very happy with our stay in Maison d’Ail! Beautiful location, nice big rooms and bathrooms and loved the breakfast. This is my second time staying in this cute little hotel. ”

”Upon arrival we realized this is not a farm but a little small holding. All units less than 15 feet from each other. A Large Barn is also right opposite the cottages where workers are staying. Drawers in kitchen not in good condition, small stove in a terrible condition. Dead ants in the cupboard. The Sunday morning the workers who stay in the barn opposite the cottages were painting and playing terrible and very loud music. This was not a nice Sunday morning on a farm. The music were turned...

”The accommodation is very beautiful in everything - rooms, pools, garden,… The Host was very nice and had good lunch/dining recommendations for us. The breakfast was really good and offered us a big variety. The room and bathroom was clean and pretty. There are enough parking spots. We would definitely come back when we are in Franschhoek.”
