Gala-talo näkymistä järville ja Vernonille Pohjois-Okanaganissa

Curlew House oli alkuperäinen hedelmätarhassa oleva talo, ja se kunnostettiin kokonaan viimeisen 8 vuoden aikana. Sisustus on täysin modernisoitu, avoin ja tilava kaasutakka ja kaikki mukavuudet. Olohuoneessa on iso kuvaikkuna ja ranskalaiset ovet pääkerroksen makuuhuoneesta suurelle kannelle, josta on näkymät laaksoon ja järviin.
Takaovesta on mukavan kokoinen mutahuone, jossa pesukone / kuivausrumpu, paljon säilytystilaa kesähauskoille tavaroille tai talvella suksi- ja lumilautailua. Pääkerroksessa on myös iso kylpyhuone, jossa on kaksi pesuallasta, iso kylpyamme ja erillinen suihku sekä wc suljettujen ovien takana. Yläkerrassa on 3 makuuhuonetta, queen, double ja single. Jokaisessa huoneessa on erilliset termostaatit lämmitys- / jäähdytysjärjestelmän ohjaamiseksi haluamallasi tavalla.
Talon ympärillä olevilla tonteilla on useita kukkapuutarhoja, suuria lindenpuita, erilaisia hedelmäpuita, kasvispuutarha ja yrttipiraali, joista kaikista on näkymät laaksoon ja ympäröivään maaseutuun. Puun polku johtaa omenatarhaan ja laitumelle, jossa muutama lammas, jotkut ankat ja kanat hengailevat.
Harmaan kanavan polku on muutaman askeleen päässä etuovesta, joka johtaa BX-puroa pitkin vesiputoukseen, tai useita kilometrejä Hopeatähteen juurella. Olemme lähellä Vernonin keskustaa ja 20 minuutin päässä Sovereign Lake Nordic Centeristä Silver Star Resortin kanssa aivan sen jälkeen. Kaiken kaikkiaan se on hiljainen paikka rentoutua ja nauttia auringonlaskuista Okanaganin rinteiden yli.

Comfortable Heritage Hom
This lovely heritage house has a relaxed and welcoming feel with wonderful views of both Okanogan Lake and Kalmalka Lake. The house is well equipped, very comfortable and charming. The hosts are so easy to chat with and provided all the information needed for our stay.

Charming Orchard House
We first stayed in 2023, and were lucky to stay again in May 2024. The house is old but roomy & charming. It is nestled in a quiet area, with beautiful views over Vernon with the Okanagan Lake in the distance. Tucked safely in an orchard, but only minutes from town. It is Peaceful, Private, and cozy. Do not expect ultra-modern accomodations, but expect charming & quaint. The Gala House is a favourite of ours. I highly recommend it!

Wonderful orchard property
We loved our stay at this beautiful old farmhouse. The views from the deck are stunning. We enjoyed exploring the area and trails nearby. Great spot to spend some time with family.

What a lovely setting - orchards, near a trail, mountains in the distance! The playhouse is a bonus for small children. Updated, spacious bathroom (but note that there is only one bathroom, located on the main floor). Roomy kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay.

Quiet & Quaint Farm House
Wow. Such a beautiful house and propery - so peaceful and very quiet. The huge kitchen was very well stocked. Our group had a comfortable stay. We were only in Vernon for 2 nights on this trip, but hope to re-book this property again, and for a longer stay. HIGHLY recommend this one. Patrick was very easy to communicate with, and he made sure we had everything we needed. THANK YOU - We loved it!

The home was very nice with a large kitchen/living area. We were 5 of us and I didn't pay enough attention to the fact that there was only one bathroom. We made it work though and the bathroom was large. We enjoyed the country surroundings and beautiful view.

The house was very comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The only complaint we had was the dishwasher didn’t work, so we messaged the owners on Saturday morning, but we didn’t hear back from them until just before we had to check out.

Family get together.
This cute little farm house was a bit out of town but was a great place to have a family getaway. There are updates to the kitchen and bathroom. The view is amazing!! The kitchen is fully stocked. (Just could use a few better knives). They leave a good supply of toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, laundry soap and dish soap. Thanks for the stay!!

A home away from home
We had a wonderful stay and would love to return one day. The house was exactly as described — it was well equipped for our longer stay. It was clean, comfortable, and the view was fantastic. We had our dogs with us, and the yard was perfect. There is a great off-leash park minutes away, as well as lovely hiking trails right from the property. Our hosts were very friendly and welcomed us with delicious apples from their orchard. Also, the large bathtub was lovely, especially post-ski. Thanks to our hosts for a great stay!

A Home Away From Home
The Gala House was our perfect 'home away from home' during a very cold week of ski racing. The location is convenient; an easy drive to the mountain yet close to Vernon to restock supplies. We stayed during an unseasonably cold week (-20C), but the house was always cozy, and the temperature controls in each room made everyone happy! The kitchen has all the basics to prepare meals, the mud/laundry room fits everyone's ski gear (with room to spare), the open main room is perfect for conversation, homework, reading, and resting and the one bathroom has a privacy slider so it's not an issue for multiple people. The hosts are quick with responses and have excellent local recommendations. Their commitment to recycling, composting, and using earth-friendly products throughout the house just added to the picturesque view and made it a very positive VRBO experience.

Lovely house with great views!
This place is beautiful! It is so charming and a lovely place. The AC in the upstairs room worked great, and the breeze from Silver Star in the morning was perfect to cool off the house in the summer heat. The living room and kitchen area are very spacious and was perfect for our party of 6

Wedding retreat
This property was excellent for our needs as our son was married at Barn Up the Hill only 3 mintues away. We could bring my elderly parents back to the house quickly on the wedding day. The view was awesome, and the house was very accomodating for our family as we had room for everyone. Friends who also were visiting were able to stay at Mac Shack, just up the hill from us, and Patrick was extremely accomodating for all of our needs, especially when we needed an extra space to park for our friends on the day before we left. Everything we needed was in the house for cooking and extras like the Shuswap coffee were awesome. We were happy to have some extras like a jigsaw puzzle to do and books to read. Laundry detergent was even supplied! The only thing my parents missed was tv, as we were inexperienced in how to live stream or use netflix. and it would be nice to access the deck without going through the bedroom, as my parents went to bed early and we were unable to sit on the deck in the evening. But we could sit on the lawn and experience the awesome view of the valley. It was cool to see the goats go by in the morning and listen to the rooster crow.

Lovely views, scenery, trails, home
We found the home to be relaxing, with gorgeous views of the valley, city and lakes, and close to either easy or challenging walking trails. For us it was nice to have our own space to visit rather than be stuck in a hotel room. The three rooms upstairs and master on the main floor gave us space to withdraw and relax, while the ample main floor dining and living area and balcony gave us space to stretch out. We plan to be back!
