”Beautiful old hotel in superb grounds. My 3rd visit. It’s dog friendly which is essential for me. Staff very friendly especially Angela who made such a fuss of our boy. Its excellent position means a great spot for beautiful dog walks, literally across the road. However I must comment on the room. ”Really lovely stay. Room was lovely. Staff very polite and friendly. My only suggestion would be that they may want to be a little more flexible on the full English breakfast offering I.E. if a guest would like to swap a sausage for a hash brown, it’s not a flat no. ”Nice hotel but it is looking dated, and rooms are a bit tired - they need some TLC. Lots of peeling paint, tiles lifting, and just generally feels a bit unloved. The hotel itself is a rabbit warren - lots of small staircases. It is an old building but ideally would be refurbished. Breakfast very good and staff lovely. Would stay again, but it does just need a bit of love.”

”OK stay. Rooms are a bit dated. Don’t know about suites etc. but if you are searching something more luxurious, this might not to be your selection. Location is excellent. For Crucible visitors this might be the place to stay. It was a pity that ”spa” was only a half of a spa, because only swimming pool was in use. Got the information about that when there was no option to cancel the reservation. The hotel did not compencate for this in any way.”
