”We spent a night at this lovely place on the outskirts of Montagu. There is a feeling of being out in the country, without actually being too far away from the very pretty town. The room is nicely furnished, very good bed. The views from the private patio are wonderful. Very good breakfast. Unfortunately we didn´t do the tour of the Botanical Products manufacturing, on site - where lovely organic beauty products are lovingly made. We hope to do that next time!”

”Amazingly peaceful stay at this beautiful grand old house filled with gorgeous and well mantained antiques. The breakfast was incredible, and we really appreciated the fresh baked gluten free bread! The service was all we could wish for and we enjoyed swimming in the pool outside under the stars. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a break from the city hustle and bustle.”

”Wow - nothing was too much. The team at Small hotel just always surprised us from treats in our rooms to my car being washed (which I’m still in absolute shock and wow - that’s a memorable moment - thank you Wright). The team are all friendly - Noami, Chanti, Charles, Wright and rest of the team are incredible. The actual hotel is beautiful, it’s like a sanctuary. ”We’ve stayed 3 or 4 times at Excelsior, and, as last visit, had a wonderful time. The setting is amazing, Kirstin who runs it is lovely, very efficient and an amazing cook! James who is maitre d’, is also very personable and helpful. Both of them make sure your stay is top class. There’s a golf buggy you can use to look round the vineyard. The wine is very good indeed, and guests get to drink it free, whether lounging round the beautiful pool or enjoying one of Kirstin’s wonderful...

”Overall we had an excellent stay, however a couple of things. Other guests didn't respect the no noise after 10 PM rule and were quite loud which made it very hard to sleep as obviously in tents like these you hear everything. Also, we were struggling to enter the property when checking in. We were supposed to use the code for the gate received by email, but we weren't able to check our email and we were stuck for half an hour, trying to call the emergency number to no avail. ”Lovely quiet and small guest house with delighful garden and pool area. Twin beds available. Nice breakfast and great friendly staff who booked our dinner reservations at 2 excellent restaurants. Highly recommended.”
