”Colonial Inn is always a launching point for our OBX trip. They are affordable and convenient for a Friday night stay on the way further south for a following week. We appreciate that they don’t require a 2 night stay and use them regularly as a result.”

”This hotel was a nice find, excellent quality for the price. The building is a bit run down outside, but we were there off-season and it seemed there was a lot of maintenance going on. The room was very clean and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. They even served a breakfast, which was adequate. The location is wonderful, right next to the beach!”

”They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”

”Our “cottage” was a bit run down but certainly habitable. If it were mine, I’d gut it and do a complete remodel. It needed it. Beds were comfy. Location was good. Less than a minute walk to the beach which was accessible from the property. If you don’t need luxury, then you’ll be fine here, but if you’re looking for a 4 or 5 star, this ain’t it.”
