The Ferguson Cottage

One of the most unique and beautiful homes on the island. The amazing views of the Intracoastal Waterway provide so many opportunities to observe birds, dolphins, and fish from the comfort of the couch. Fish off the dock and watch the boats cruise by. You may not want to leave but the beach is just around the corner.

Amazing house - wonderful surroundings !
What a magic stay ! The house is so beautiful and FUN ! The pool table was a big hit for our young ones ! Wonderful way to get together and have some FUN ! The setting is a big HIT: the private pier right outside, lovely place to hang out ! Our boys got to do some fishing there, caught some fish and even a mini shark ! Thank you for the warning about NOT swimming there. Thanks for a wonderful time !

We love this cottage!
This was our first time staying anywhere but directly on the beach, and we absolutely loved it! The cottage is so comfortable, unique, pretty, and peaceful. Not to mention perfectly clean! We love the sitting room with windows looking out over the waterway! If you love to fish you will love the personal pier! My kids and husband loved fishing off of it! My son caught many baby black tip sharks, a small hammerhead shark, flounder, pin fish, and croakers. Use fresh or frozen squid and everything bites your hook! It was so peaceful in the neighborhood. Not to mention, a short drive to the beach! We will be back!

Wonderful stay
Great location , loved the layout of the cottage and well stocked kitchen. Beautiful view of intracoastal waterway where you could see dolphins , great blue herons , white egrets , fiddler crabs , and etc.

Tranquil spot
Our family found the Ferguson Cottage the perfect spot to recharge. Lovely views of the natural space across the way and the occasional boat passing buy. The porch was a great spot for morning coffee or afternoon reading and the dock was perfect for a bit of catch & release fishing too! Our host was a great communicator and even pointed us to a great bait shop for supplies and tips for fishing in the intercostal waterway. We’ll be back!

Birthday Getaway
We loved our stay at the house. It was just as expected and more! The views were amazing. The kitchen is fully stocked and it felt very comfortable. One thing to note...dont forget to turn off the dock lights at night. I fell asleep and my travel partners could not find the switch in the dark on night 1. The next day the neighbor was sure to let us know it was a bother to them. Loved the house but wheww those neighbors are rough.

Ferguson Cottage
It's an unusual round house on the ICW with a view of undeveloped land across the water. Very quiet and peaceful (the weekend before Easter). Hardly any road traffic, some boat traffic on the ICW. Lots of wildlife viewing; seabirds, shorebirds and dolphins. It's a well equipped house, we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and Peaceful getaway
The house sits on intercoastal waterway and in a great neighborhood. Beautiful outdoors and very scenic views being on the water and also having a great backyard. We saw dolphins from the dock behind the house. We saw baby fox across the water. It was just amazing to sit and watch the boats go by, and the high/low tides. The house is great for a bunch of friends to come and enjoy. Great hangout area with pool table, many couches etc. All the questions we had, the owner resolved immediately. We will definitely visit again.

We had 4 wonderful walks on the beach and the views from the house are spectacular. However, the weather was very cold and the heat pump was not able to keep the house even tolerably warm. The lighting in the living room needs to be improved.

Round House Perfection
We absolutely loved this house! Two couples stayed, and we all loved it. The location and accommodations were everything we could ask for. We sat on the dock and watched the pelicans, boats, and even a dolphin 🐬 Highly recommend this quaint round house 😍

Very nice house
We stayed for just a few days. The house is awesome. The view is amazing. We spent a lot of time on the pier fishing and enjoying the boats passing by. The house had everything we needed. The owner was very quick to respond to questions. (Even my stupid ones) we will definitely be back.

Cute home with amazing views
We were in Oak Island for my daughter's wedding. This home was perfect for my dad who needed a place without steps. I wanted him to be able to have a nice view for the days he was "home" and this was perfect. He actually celebrated his 74th birthday here as well and was able to catch a couple fish. The house was perfect for us. Thank you, I hope we are able to come back.

Great house
This is a very nice home. Beds are very comfortable, cleaning supplies, dish and dishwasher detergent supplied, hand soaps at every sink, paper towels and bathroom tissue. The view of the ICW is fabulous, along with dolphins and the cranes. We enjoyed fishing and watching the boats go buy from the dock. Craig is a great host and hope to go back next ear.

Beautiful home!
Very toddler friendly, we brought our own gate for the pier, but the inside was wonderful and safe! Craig made check in and check out super easy! We had a blast watching the boats go by, and fishing from the pier! Will book again!
