The Knotty Loft is located in Lutsen Mountains. You'll love this home away from home because it is a unit on the top (3rd) floor, with amazing views of the Superior National Forest. This cozy condo is the ideal getaway for a weekend ski trip or a summertime home base for your North Shore explorations.

Note: Free High-Speed Internet service is available throughout the resort, no access code needed (but you do have to accept the “terms and conditions” to log on). *Being a large resort and so far up north, it is not always a great connection.

This unit is individually owned and operated and is not managed by Caribou Highlands Resort.

The resort wants us to tell you that you do NOT have access to the “Resort-Planned Activities/Events” and the shuttle, but luckily this is a ski-in/ski-out vacation home!

Our local staff is pleased to tend to your housekeeping/maintenance needs and provide you with fresh linens/towels if you need additional. So please do NOT go to the Resort Front Desk. Upon booking you will receive the pertinent contact info for any needs. Thank you!

Perfect weekend stay at Lutsen!
We took full advantage of the fantastic location of the condo. We arrived on Friday and had made reservations at Moguls Grille for dinner. Over the weekend we visited Grand Marais, took a ride on the gondola, rented mountain bikes in Tofte, and hiked in the area a bit. We had a wonderful time and our hosts were amazing!

The published guide that is provided for staying at this property is the best I have ever seen. There were a couple things that came up while we were there and they were addressed promptly. The owner even made a trip to drop off a requested item, which is exceptional. This truly is a ski in and ski out condo, which is very convenient.

The property was perfect for a group of four guys to ski Lutsen for a long weekend. It was clean, everything worked, it was ski in and ski out, as long as the right lifts were running, and was very comfortable.

This is a fantastic, ski in and ski out location. The space is laid out well. Communication, check in and check out were all great. The furniture was less than comfortable and the wifi was unusable. All units share the same signal and it simply is strong enough for that kind of use. That meant no TV and no devices. Once your day is over on the slopes you need bring books, board games etc. Again, the location is amazing but the unit isn't relaxing.

Love this place
We love Caribou Highlands because of the location close to so many activities - alpine slide, gondola, Grand Marais, Cascade River state park, Temperence River, Oberg Mountain, etc. We love this condo because of the bunk beds, two bathrooms, comfy decor, comfy beds, clean, the view and sound of the waterfall off the balcony. Also, the pools at this resort are top notch. The outdoor pool at night is amazing.

All the comforts of home
My husband, three kids (16, 14, 11) and I had a great stay with North Shore MN Rentals. The kitchen, although small, was well stocked with every item you would need for making meals. The beds were freshly made with plenty of extra blankets hidden about the place in the dressers & closets. Overall, everything was very clean. We appreciated the air conditioning and extra fans as well. The fireplace was also perfect --easy to use and the wood was complementary. My husband and I enjoyed coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening on the terrace. We even saw a fox and a beaver from our perch while we were discussing the day's plans! The kids enjoyed the outside pool and my husband appreciated the indoor whirlpool after a day out hiking. The indoor pool also looked nice. We had fun as a family with the yard games as well. The resort front desk was very professional and informative when we asked them for maps to navigate our way to the nearby waterfalls and Superior Hiking Trail. Our contact, Jesse, was very good about making sure we had all of the information we needed before we arrived and with checking in with us after we were settled in. We did not need anything, but if we would have I'm sure he would have provided it in a timely manner. We hope to stay again!

Great location and views. Interior is a bit old with some minor updates to bathrooms. Wallpaper starting to peel. Some items in descriptions don’t match perfectly in listing but pretty much has everything you need.
