”Little bit disappointing that when I booked wasn’t informed of the building work at the hotel. Also some building work being carried out behind the hotel that was slightly more irritating due to early starts”

”Everything was perfect except the bedroom was unbearably hot. Could not turn off bathroom heating or open window beyond 10cms (appreciate health and safety issues), so ended up with fan on all night. Rather negates other excellent environmental measures..fresh milk in jugs so no plastic, opportunity to reuse towels etc. ”

”Lovely stay at the Royal Hotel. Staff were very friendly, room was fine, beds not the most comfortable, maybe a little too warm. Location a short walk from center of town. Breakfast selection was very good, as it was out of season it was not a buffet, but cooked to order. Free car parking is a big positive. Overall a good stay! ”

”Great hotel, staff very pleasant and helpful throughout. Room good size, large comfortable bed, bathroom with shower and bath. Ample toiletries supplied. Hospitality tray, which was replenished daily. Very good breakfast, with wide choice. Free parking on site. Good wi-fi. There I are two pools and spa, but unfortunately we didn’t have time to go in either. Hotel is about 20 minutes walk from St Helier where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. ”We are regular guests of OGH and as we celebrated our honeymoon there it was the perfect first night before we set off for Herm and Sark.”

”A really hot room with broken air-condition and a locked (not usable) safe was given to us and also our friends got a room with broken a-c. Later on we heard a similar story by another hotel guest. We got a better room after complaining. I am sure that hotel management is aware of the fact that air-conditioning in several rooms is not working and still they put guests in such rooms. This is not acceptable. Breakfast was good as was location.”
