”We would happily give 5 stars to the staff, service, rooms, garden and pool - they are magnificent for a laid-back island holiday. What we drop the one star for is the somewhat incomplete communication. Fundamentally, this is an apartment in a 3-story building. No spa yet. On the night of arrival, the independent Yachtsman Grill closed at 6 pm without a warning. We found that out at 6.15 when we tried to go to dinner. Luckily, there is a nice Indian restaurant less than half a mile down...

”This is a charming hotel. The rooms are traditional, with some modern upgrades (the TV has a US Roku - a good choice for US visitors, although unfortunately it doesn't really work for UK visitors). The staff were all friendly and helpful. Ample parking outside the rooms. There is no buffet breakfast, and unfortunately the breakfast options are quiet expensive (approx US$70 for two people, which is a bit excessive for a simple breakfast). ”We loved the privacy, boutique type resort and proximity to auto ferry. Excellent communication with Hedda. Staff was attentive to our needs. The unit provides all you need including a Nespresso coffee machine. Clean and updated. Pictures are accurate. We are happy to recommend this property. ”

”Just returned home from my stay at this property and I must say that I totally enjoyed it. The house is air conditioned and comfortable and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. If excersize walking is your thing, this particular neighborhood is ideal. You can walk within the neighborhood comfortably-- no need to go to the main road. In addition to everything stayed before, the owner and on-island contact are pleasant and respond quickly to inquiries. All in all, great place, nice stay!”

”Nisbet is on a former sugar plantation and buttresses the Atlantic. The grounds and rooms are well-maintained. It’s very laid back, an older crowd, except for the lively Thursday night barbecue on the beach. Outsiders come to Nisbet and live music is offered. Dinner food is fair, although quite good at the barbecue. Breakfast and lunch are pretty good, but with limited menus. Overall, a very relaxing vacation, but it is best to go off grounds for other experiences and restaurants.”

”We found it very difficult to communicate with the absentee owner, who had not provided proper directions even up to the time when we arrived in Charlestown. Only through the assistance of a stranger who allowed us to use his office wifi, were we able to talk with the owner, who was in Hong Kong, then our newfound friend drove us to the location in his personal car. We were met there by a local person who apparently cares for the property. The house is badly in need of repair, many lights not...
