”Dunkeld is beautiful and so relaxing. They have a lot of activities and their restaurant's food is absolutely amazing! The room was beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. I would just not recommend the quad bike ride...that was really a waist of money.”

”We only stayed a single night on the way to Johannesburg airport, but we enjoyed all of it. Wonderful room with fantastic views and a G/T on the terrace. Nice homecooked dinner and breakfast and overall just great service. We felt very welcome. Only downside was that the mosquitoes were as happy to see us as Holger and Norma. Glad this is not a malaria area. ”

”A Perfect Escape at Valley of the Rainbow Our stay at Valley of the Rainbow was absolutely fantastic! While there was no cellphone signal or WiFi at the chalet, it was a welcome break from technology—exactly what we needed to truly unwind. The setting was peaceful and breathtaking, making it the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature. ”The location of the hotel is good. The stairs down the the rooms is built for somebody with long legs and the ramp - not sure if that is for a wheel chair which I will never use. The restaurant is very over priced and its really not great food. The food at Mrs Simpson is WAY better. The fire place, having a vent right on top, the room was always smelling of smoke. Rooms do all need a little TLC. Staff is very friendly and helpful.”

”The physicality is breath taking! It is close enough to Johannesburg that a quick weekend getaway is doable without driving for untold hours before you reach your destination. This is quiet hideaway, and even though Wi-Fi availability is advertised, there is no cover in the accommodation that we used. Spotty Wi-Fi is available in the reception area. The approach roadway is bad! So no small cars as you need height or off-road ability, large cars are wide and are damaged by encroaching vegetation...

”Incredible experience! We stayed at mount high after three nights in the bush - and it was wonderful. Will be back for sure- pure relaxation in a wonderful atmosphere. Attention: SUV advisable, because the gravel road on the way is quite challenging.”

”We've booked a room that was supposed to fit 4 person (that was how it was marked on hotels.com). When we arrived we learned that the room is actually a 2 person room and we had to pay for another room (we bargained for a half price for a second one). The "original" room was nice and clean (although not very new) but the second one had some mold in it and was in need for a renovation. Other than that the staff was nice and we had a good sleep for a one night.”
