”This was our first stop on a 14 hour journey from Florida to Virginia to find our forever home. We had no idea where we were going, ended up two and a half hours through the Western Virginia mountains ... In the dark... I'm the rain! But then thru the mountain mist, shown the Beautiful bright lights of The Gateway Motel! I would have loved to stay longer. The owner was amazing, friendly and inviting. The rooms were perfect, cozy and warm. The property is gorgeous with the running rapid Creek...

”Nice house, good location. We rode Spearhead Trails. Easy access although the town cop informed us that the one section of 460 is not for ATVs and that was the only way to get to trails. They didn’t cite or bother us so we kept going that way. And we frequently saw State troopers, Town cops and Sheriffs while we were there and they never stopped us. We all agreed that we would stay there again. ”

”We were visiting the area specifically for Elk Fest and this property was a perfect location for that. In today's age internet is a must and it worked perfectly for such a remote location. We would stay here again if we are back in the area.”

”The property was unique and roomy as advertised, and very convenient to Breaks. The location offers very limited options for dinner, but that is not the fault of the owner. The owner was very responsive throughout the process. Kinda pricey for only 2 people, but great if you are filling the space. ”

”Our check in was amazing. The friendliest worker I have ever encountered. Room was a bit warm, even after turning down temp. Bedding is hot. Slept great though. Mold in bathroom shower not a lot, guessing by looks it’s just old ”

”The service was good. My sales partner has cerval palsy and walks with braces so they gave us a first floor room but it was smoking and we didn’t feel comfortable. The woman at the front desk was nice tho. And we were desperate, plus it was inexpensive…but that’s about the only way I’d recommend this place. ”

”I’m usually against VRBOs because staying at a hotel is fairly easy but with a new baby and a dog it’s hard to find a quiet hotel anywhere. This place was absolutely amazing. Perfect for everything we need, the hosts were very attentive to our needs and requests, the space was beautiful, and the views were even better. If you happen to pass through or are visiting make sure to stay here. I know my family will be back soon. ”
