”The Devonshire is perfectly located in the hills around Chesterfield. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed rooms with comfy beds and super quiet with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Dining options in the pub restaurant were vast and the food delicious with a really friendly team. Final bonus - REAL MILK provided in the fridge for proper morning coffee. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you team Devonshire. ”

”We had paid a £10 pp deposit on the evening meals. When coming to pay the staff claimed no knowledge of our deposits. It is not acceptable to have to make breakfast menu choices the day before. I have never come across this at any other hotel”

”This hotel was magnificent. The building, room, grounds, staff and food. I had booked Staindrop Lodge which was disgusting. I checked out within half an hour and booked Whitley Hall which was amazing. I contacted HOTELS.COM for a refund for Staindrop Lodge but they called the Manager and unbelievably took his word and refused me a refund. Wont be using HOTELS.COM again. ”

”Great rooms. Exactly what we needed. Staff are very friendly and locals were too. Rooms were very clean and good size. Beds were comfy and easy access direct to car park from 1st floor, made it easy with our dogs. Fox Valley Shopping Park was 5-10 minutes walk and had some nice places for breakfast and dinner. Will definitely use this as a base again, when bringing our dogs to the moors. ”
