"Two nights in beautifull Heidelberg"

"We were given a smaller room than what we booked through hotels.com (we booked a comfort-room but were given a standard -room). When we took this up, we had some unpleasant conversations with the staff/owner. We had booked a room that can fit 4 person's because we were travelling with two kids. In making the booking we didn't mention that we were traveling with 2 kids because the hotels.com app said that children are free of charge (I believe this info has been changed since). We even brought our own baby cot. The information on the hotels.com/Expedia app was misleading. After requesting the right room, the owner ended up giving us two standard-rooms. We thought it was a compromise from their side because of the wrong room but during check-out we were asked to pay for both of them. The whole experience was not very customer-oriented and we would not stay here again. We understand that some of the hazzle could have been avoided with accurate information on the hotels.com app. Also, the owner was completely unaware of the different hotels.com membership services (we are gold members and the hotel had registered some vip access services like free upgrade of the room but in practice they were completely unaware of this)."
