”Very very conveniently located! It's about ten minutes from Volcanoes National Park, and not too far from other areas of interest as well. We visited from Kona so the difference in climate was extremely refreshing. Love the consideration placed in the small things too, like heated blankets and individual space heaters. It does get a little chilly in the evening at that altitude but I love the cooler nights. Thanks for the opportunity to stay!”

”Nice quiet area. Enjoyed the orange and lemon trees. Birds, frogs and bugs were quite noisy but could barely be heard when the house was closed up. A gallon pitcher, funnel and juicer would be helpful. ”

”We loved every minute while at this beautiful paradise. The lanai was the show stopper and our absolute favorite. The surf was pretty rough during our stay but it made for a spectacular site during high tide. It never got old sitting and watching it. ”

”Loved the view from the living room, dining room, and lanai - 180 degrees of ocean. We even saw whales!!The hosts were very responsive. We had trouble with a bedroom light, they had it fixed the next day. And when the power went out while we were away, they texted to warn us, and supplied flashlights and drinking water to make sure we'd be OK.I can't recommend this place enough!! Next time we travel to Hawaii I hope it's available!”

”A gorgeous house that accommodated 8 adults, located close to the water and fairly close to the beaches. Very convenient to have 3 bathrooms. We absolutely loved that the kitchen was fully stocked and had lots of dishes to use, as we cooked for most of our meals. The pool was very relaxing after a day of exploring the island. Host was very responsive and communicated well. Would highly recommend! ”

”This is a 10 stay. The house is in a lush gardenic setting in a very quiet neighborhood. Christine was an excellent host and saw to our every need. The house was immaculately, clean with a beautiful upstairs balcony overlooking our lush yard. A wonderful place to have your morning cup of coffee. We stayed a few different places before reaching Christine‘s house, we were so pleased with her place that we canceled reservations elsewhere in order to stay at the lava house. ”Loved the house in general; very comfortable, especially the abilitiy to open the house with the glass doors. Great view from second floor balcony. Very happy with chairs and beach items available for use. Showers were difficult to figure out - master handheld doesn't work. The pool was ok.”

”We loved our stay at the Hawaiian Breeze House and wish our visit would have been longer! The house is very charming and well equipped, the location is beautiful and quiet (except for the roosters). Our stay on the east side of the island couldn’t have been better. Thank you! ”

Waste of money

"This place is an absolute dump. I don't think it would pass for a 2-star hotel in Europe or Asia. Don't book the ocean view room, the windows will rattle to a point where it's impossible to sleep with the slightest of waves. The prices are beyond ludicrous. Spent a few nights here, expecting this to be the dream Hawaiian getaway after trekking around the island - it was the worst hotel we stayed in. We had to change rooms 3 times to get something remotely habitable... this at a $400/night resort."

Relaxing holiday in well maintained resort.

"Great week in a spacious villa with nice views over the golf course to ocean. Having breakfast in the balcony was unforgettable. The bed was confortable and all utilities we needed were available. We would choose this place again."

Doesn't feel royal -they should renovate the place

"This resort is really outdated (atleast the tower were we stayed – they were doing some renovations there though) We were happy that we only booked one night. It is really close to Kailua-Kona center (but was quiet still which was great), so it was walkable and the trolley takes you to some beaches. "
