”Quick one night stay with 35-45 minute drive to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Room was clean, easy check in, staff were friendly, bed was good, bathroom/shower were clean as well! Easy walk to Coconut Island (pictured) and short driving distance from hotel to amazing waterfalls in or near Hilo! ONLY downside was parking was limited. So have to park nearby on street. Found parking without much problem and not too far away. Staff was VERY HELPFUL with that, especially with me arriving so...

”All staff were welcoming and helpful. It was nice having a fridge, microwave and sink to be able to eat in at times. Laundry facilities were available. I'd go for a dip in the ocean right next door and then hop into the pool. Very relaxing. Ask for a room, second floor, overlooking the pool as this gives you a nice view of the ocean as well. Very good location in Hilo ”

”We had a good stay at Magic Skies. The property seemed to have a nice atmosphere with the different spaces and room themes though there were some areas undergoing maintenance at the time of our stay. ”We enjoyed staying here. As a big cat lover I was pleased of the friendly cats they had. The only negative side was the noise which started between 7-8am on mornings. We stayed in unit number 1 so I think that the staff started their day in the room next to ours. Also a sponge for dishes in the room would be nice to have - now we had to borrow it from the kitchen. ”

”We had the best time at Hamakua hotel. First, the manager was very accomodating and generous. The room was beautiful, big, clean, with big windows - so relaxing. And we had the chance to attend the surprise dinner on tuesday night. It was unbelievable. Truly, one of the best dinners in my life. We were amazed and so grateful. The Hamakua hotel is a pricey place to stay, but for the experience that we had, it was all worth it. Beyond expectations. We truly recommend it!”

It had AC, fans, hot water, a comfortable bed, a kitchenette and full bathroom. The place is easy to find and there is a nice beach within walking distance. The place is ideal for staying in the Hilo area or for day trips to Volcanoes National Park, or drive to the top of Mauna Kea (4WD required). ”This rental made such good use of the one-acre lot - we enjoyed the mirthful pool and garden area, the garden, ocean and starlight views from an assortment of decks, lanais and gazebos. We felt like we hardly had to leave the property. But just a few minutes up the road were rocky beaches for whale-viewing, bamboo forests with waterfalls, and a cascading stream with refreshing swimming holes. Cannot wait to return to Honomu House.”
