Rocky Ridge Secluded Getaway Joins Shawnee Forest

Just steps away from the captivating beauty of The Shawnee National Forest, Rocky Ridge offers unmatched tranquility and relaxation. Surrounded by 40 acres of private land and joins approximately 800 acres of The Shawnee National Forest. After a day of recreation, relax on the front porch, watching the wildlife or gazing at the stars that come out overhead as you warm up by the firepit.
Excellent location to see some of the wildlife and visit some of the local's favorite trails and attractions.

Shawnee base camp for hiking/biking
The cabin was great. It was clean, comfortable, and worked great for our needs. The drop down ladder/stairs to the loft were not an issue for our group. The kitchen had just what we needed to make breakfast and dinner. We basically only slept there because we explored all day. We did bbq and have a fire at night.

Comfortable Cabin near hiking trails
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. While my husband took time to go hunting nearby, I was able to enjoy hiking trails, the chocolate factory and around the lake. We definitely plan to come back.

Fantastic stay, needs better stairs.
Very secluded, very nicely kept. I was not a fan of the very dangerous stairs to the bed room and beds upstairs. We were very worried about us falling down them at night, so we just stayed on the very uncomfortable pull out couch. Over all is was a fantastic time, absolutely a beautiful piece of property and we do appreciate you sharing that with us. Thank you, Brian

Great little cabin!
Remote little cabin. 1 neighbor, friendly and quiet. We had an amazing time hiking, and mushroom hunting, we also went to the beach at Lake Glendale. The water was pretty much bath water but we had a good time anyway. The cabin was super clean, but did have a mustiness to it, esp the upstairs sleeping area. We were recovering from a cold to it was noticable. Similar when I stay at my grandma's house. Updated/all new appliances and updated bathroom. Really good internet connection. Plenty of hot water. The ladder upstairs to sleeping quarters was manageable. We took our 3.5 and 1.5 year old so we just kept it closed during the day. The baby slept in a baby cage at night so we didn't have to worry about her wandering. We also brought our 2 dogs who stayed on the lower level.

22nd Wedding Anniversary
My husband and I have two 10.5 year old Aussie mix dogs. We were able to enjoy a weekend away & travel with them not far from home. The cabin was clean & had everything you needed. We were not aware that to get to the bedrooms you have to climb a loft ladder. Our dogs are used to sleeping by us and one of them has seizures so this was a slight issue. However, I slept in the recliner in the living room. One dog slept on the floor & one slept on the couch. The weather was beautiful & all was well. The owners were easy to get a hold of before hand & answered any questions I had in advance.

I had picked this stay on a whim, not knowing how it would be but interested in the layout — I could not have picked a better place. Everything is stocked in the cabin, including condiments and spices, you are given freedom to use the resources so long as everything is put back when you’re done. The property is maintained very well and plenty of other hot spots are within driving distance. We had a great time — very scenic. Definitely would recommend and come again.

Extremely clean. Internet and cable worked well. Cabin was perfect, comfortable for 4 people, everything we needed was there. AC worked great. Neighbor’s well behaved, nice dogs were an inconvenience only because they wanted to play with us and we were not there for that, would have appreciated not having to deal with them but they were roaming free most of time.

Secluded getaway
The house is secluded away from the urban, city life that we're used to in Seattle, WA. We were able to cook our breakfasts in the kitchen which is stocked with essentials (knives, pans, salt/pepper), view the stars with no light pollution and play games as a family. Shelly responded quickly to all of my questions and reminded us every time to reach out, if needed. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
