Along the route Lincoln walked to the National Cemetery, 3 blocks from the center square and a short walk to the Steinwehr Ave district, the National Park, or a multitude of dining options. There is a trolley stop across the street at the Library for the 3 main historic routes. On lot parking space available behind the house from High St. Two bedrooms, living room, dining room, full kitchen, bathroom, and a great screened in porch for watching sunsets. Great location. Surrounded by Churches. Short walk to National Park, .4 mile in multiple directions. .5 miles to Gettysburg College, 11 miles to Ski Liberty Resort, 14 miles to great hiking along the Appalachian Trail to the west and north. 7 miles to Apple County USA.

Great location to restaurants a d attractions!
Lovely historic building located near restaurants, Boutiques and Gettysburg Battlefield. I enjoyed offee each morning on the screened in porch. Ba k steps are steep but the front entrance has a lovely staircase. Beds were comfortable. Smart TV so we were able to log into Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Great location but poor experience
Our check-in was a disaster. For some reason our confirmation email had the address of a different property. We wandered around in the dark for thirty minutes before I finally realized that the address in the app was different. In that process I sent three separate messages to the owners and received no reply whatsoever. The error may not have been their fault but to fail to respond at all (not even the following day) was not ok. The location is excellent. Very convenient with easy parking. Extremely steep stairs up to the property from the parking lot. The screen porch was very dirty and one of the screens is halfway ripped off. There’s no way it sleeps 6. 5 max if someone sleeps on the sofa. The main bed is a full, not a queen. It has some kind of waterproof covering on the mattress so that it crinkles when you lie on it, plus the fitted sheet constantly comes off. Pillows are flat and uncomfortable. There’s also zero privacy. The doors from the living room and between the bedrooms are glass paned, plus the tiny bunk bed room can only get to the rest of the unit through the main bedroom. The bathroom ceiling has a bunch of holes in it. There’s a lot of street noise, but even worse, anyone from another unit in the hallway sounds like they’re standing in your room. I would not stay here again.

Location was perfect. Loved having access to parking. The beds were comfortable and everyone had a great time. Having 4 females, an additional mirror other than in bathroom would have been helpful, but that’s the only thing that could have made the trip better.

Great Location
This was a great place to stay, however, it might benefit future guest to know that to get to the bunk beds, you have to go thru the main bedroom. Also, the bedroom doors have glass panes in them making changing in the bathroom necessary. *Note to owners- I would recommend asking your cleaning crew to check the washing machIne after each stay. I opened and the washer smelled strongly of mildew. I figured it was in the rubber seal around the door, as those get pretty yucky if the door is closed after running and not allowed to air dry. I went and bought bleach and ran thru twice, rinse cycle twice and wiped out A LOT of mildewy gunk from the ring. I got it good enough to do a load of laundry. Just thought you should know. We would definitely recommend and stay here again. Within walking distance to ghost tours, shopping and dining. The street traffic during the night is pretty loud, but it would not deter us in the future. We loved staying in a Civil War era house!

In the Heart of Everything
This was a great place to stay. Easy access to all the downtown activities and central to the whole town. A/C worked great and gave us lots of relief in hot weather. Only thing to watch out for is(and there's not much the owner could do about it) it can get noisy at night with the main street packed with tourists and traffic. With the main bedrooms at the front of the building, it may keep you or kids in the bunkbeds awake. I used a white noise app to mask it and it helped. Otherwise, loved it!

Wonderful location
The location was perfect. We could walk to everyplace we wanted to go except for the Battlefield proper. However, if you are a light sleeper, this wouldn't be the best fit for you. The bedrooms are on the Baltimore street side. We wore ourselves out during the day so sleeping was not an issue. We will stay here again. Would suggest fixing the ceiling tiles in the bathroom. Took us 20 minutes to convince one of our party there wasn't a camera hidden in one of the holes :-)

This place is a great place to stay at. With free parking in the back of the home and short walks to see the town. It was in close proximity short drive to the battlefield. My husband, sister in law, and I loved staying at this home.

Overall Good property, but lots of room for improvement
First, let’s start with the positive. The location is AAA+: walking distance to tours, restaurants, diners, pubs, ice cream & shops. The location couldn’t have been better. Also, having grown up in an 150yo house, & trained as an architect, I enjoy the idiosyncrasies of old buildings. This is an old house & it has its quarks & charm. The kitchen was clean & well appointed. It is better equipped than most VRBO/rent properties I’ve stayed in. Everything worked, more or less, & the parking/porch were much appreciated. Now, for the not so good. The floors weren’t very clean. We found bits of cookie & wrappers underneath the couches in the livingroom. The toilet seat was poorly attached & the toilet wasn’t properly bolted to the floor. It felt like it could fall over at any time. Then there was the privacy issue. Since the two bedrooms are layed out like a railroad apartment, it would’ve helped if there was at least a curtain over the glass doors so you could changed in private. I was with my family, but if your partner/flatmate wanted privacy it would be impossible. Next, the Unit has three doors to the interior corridor. This means when the other tenants are up, you are up; day & night. Finally, it needs to be maintained. The broken plastic mini-blinds, burned out bulbs & zero decoration (art, etc) make the interior feel like a college apartment, complete with inexpensive linens/towels. I would stay here again, but the price is fairly high for this level

Family Weekend
Location...location...location. This 2nd floor unit is clean, functional and is right in the middle of where you would want to be. Parking was easy. Please be aware that it is difficult for 6 people to sleep here; there is one bedroom with a pass through to a small room with a bunk bed. Doors have glass panes, so the are not private. Persons five and six will need to sleep on a couch and love seat. Also, know that this is not an attractive, well decorated place to relax. It is simply a clean, safe place to put your feet up after a full day in Gettysburg. We hope to be back!

Great Location
Nice place, better than getting a hotel room and well-priced. Just a couple blocks off the roundabout at the heart of downtown Gettysburg, has its own private parking included, great for ease of coming and going around town for shopping, dining, etc. Responsive owners, no problems. Definitely recommend.

Family getaway
Perfect location! A few issues. We rented both the first and second floor units. First floor is a studio which we knew abt. No real bedroom, all sleep in one room, which was fine bc we expected it. Second floor is listed as a “2” bedroom. I disagree fully. The first bedroom w/queen is off of living room, with a fully open glass door. No privacy. Then this “second” bedroom is IN AND THROUGH, the first one with another fully glass door. This is not a bedroom it’s a closet or sitting room. Fine if with small kids, but even still there’s absolutely no privacy. Beds were awful. On first floor, in queen bed, the first night our backs hurt so bad we had to go out and get an egg crate mattress cover. Helped a little but not much. Pillows are all so flat also had to buy a decent one. Lock in rear downstairs unit with code DOES NOT lock at all. You can literally just push it in. Although this leads to a locked unit door still did not feel ok about it. Parking was good both. Kitchens were stocked with enough equipment to have a meal. AC worked great.
