”Enjoying the history related to this property. The courtyard is beautiful. The elevators were not working so this created added trips back and forth to the car to unload items. The sink stopper was missing and there was a lightbulb out in the bathroom. The staff were very pleasant and Apologetic about the elevators. ”

”Good, convenient location in Downtown. Hotel needs a major refurbishment. Ancient AC/Heat unit could only groan and look filthy. Bathroom door wouldn't close, warped, and toilet seat broken. Ceiling of bathroom/microwave cracked with peeling paint and paint chips on the floor. Door to room was not very secure. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom linens were good. ”The Battle House is a beautiful property conveniently located in downtown Mobile. Parking in the parking deck was super easy with plenty of spots available. The hotel is gorgeous and we enjoyed the heated roof top pool! We would definitely stay here again!!”

”The hotel was very clean. The only con was the water didn’t get really hot but overall I will definitely stay here again. We had an amazing view of the city. ”

”Nice property, very clean & comfortable rooms. The check-in process was slow (10 people in line with only 2 counter persons working) & we got awakened after midnight by a roving band of young folks making noise. Also, 1 elevator was out of service & another was balky, so waits for the lift were long. Parking is convenient, the site is very close to downtown restaurants & the performing arts center. Overall a good stay that could have been better had the other guests been a little more...

”Very nice old house with beautiful details. This place not suitable for people with moving disabilities because of steep stairs. Our room was located closest to the motorway so the noise of heavy traffic kept us awake at night. If you want a good night sleep ask fir a room somewhere futher away from that road. Walking distance to the city. Note that breakfast in the bistro is not totally free. ”

”The St. James Hotel is a beautiful historic building. The options in the area were limited, and the service was slow, probably because we are in the south. I would have liked to have foldable luggage racks, and the drainage of the sink was slow. But I would not want those commas to detract from a beautiful historic building. The room was large and clean.”
