Nestled among the majestic live oak trees, Whispering Oaks strikes a harmonious balance between a serene feeling of seclusion and easy access to a wealth of local amenities. It serves as a perfect base for exploration or a lovely spot to unwind with loved ones.

Morning donuts and evening pizza and subs are a short walk away, and the rest of enchanting Emerald Isle and surround communities, like Swansboro and Morehead City, are within easy reach. The house is surrounded by old oak trees and offers direct access to paved trails for hiking, biking, and running.

Bright and inviting, this property comfortably accommodates groups of up to 10, providing a cozy and familiar retreat for your stay. The interior showcases an eclectic boho style, with earthy tones that create a relaxed, down-to-earth vibe. Designed with attention to detail, the house features a fully stocked cook's kitchen and hotel-quality beds for a restful night's sleep.

-- THE SPACE --
The downstairs features two bedrooms and a full bathroom with a shower/tub. The Sunset Room features a queen bed; the Whale Room features a double bed and a pull-out twin trundle. This room also has a cute reading nook stocked with fun kids’ books. Both bedrooms have wall-mounted TVs. The downstairs also has a lounge area with a wall mounted TV, a table and seating for 4, as well as a day bed and pull-out trundle. This level also has a laidback game room with seating, in addition to a foosball table and an arcade basketball hoops game.

The upstairs main level features a living room, wall mounted TV, a fireplace, double sliding doors going out to the main deck areas, and a fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and dining table seating for 6. There’s even a highchair available for the little one! This floor also has a washer/dryer for your use (supplies provided). We've made sure to provide a great assortment of board games and puzzles ... even our family favorite Uno cards! You'll also discover a thoughtfully curated selection of books, each with a unique connection to Emerald Isle ... yours to enjoy during your stay. This level also features two bedrooms and a full bathroom (shower, no tub). The Cactus Room features a queen bed; the other bedroom features a king bed. Both bedrooms have wall-mounted TVs. Bed linens provided for all beds.

The outdoor spaces offer ample areas for entertaining or just hanging out. The patio area is completely fenced/private with an in-ground pool, hot tub, propane firepit with seating area, and a covered seating area for relaxation and lounging. There is a picnic table, lounge chairs, couch seating, a new gas grill, patio games (jumbo connect four and large Jenga) and plenty of room to unwind after a fun day at the beach! There’s even an outdoor shower … great for post-beach or anytime use. The upper decks offer additional seating, including a fabulous "ship's watch" lookout deck with breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Grab a morning coffee or enjoy a glass of wine at sunset and just take it all in!

Each bedroom includes a wall-mounted television with smart TV capabilities. Simply log into your favorite app to watch a movie! The Kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee maker and a Keurig, Nutri bullet, blender, air fryer, waffle maker, crick pot, microwave, toaster, dishware, flatware, basic cooking pots/pans and utensils. Coffee, tea, and Keurig pods provided! The dining table can comfortably fit 6-8 people.

We provide bathroom essentials such as hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel, along with cleaning supplies like laundry detergent, dish soap, and paper products. We also provide propane tanks for the gas grill and fire pit (with an extra tank on-site). While we strive to keep the house fully stocked, larger groups or higher usage may result in some items running out during your stay.

Towels and bed linens are included: Bath and hand towels and bed linens are provided at no charge to our guests. A limited quantity of beach towels are also available for our guests’ use, as well! However, we do recommend bringing your own beach towels / beach blankets and beach chairs, or you may arrange to rent chairs from Island Essentials or Beach Butler.

-- PARKING --
Onsite, top of driveway / side of the house, up to 5 standard-sized vehicles. No street parking is available in this neighborhood.

Fast Wi-Fi!
We sometimes “work and school” from the beach, so we’ve made sure to have high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the house. There is a great workstation space in the downstairs lounge area if you need to complete an assignment or check-in with the office!

Guest access:
Guests access the home via the upper deck front door using the keypad. Instructions provided prior to check-in. Guests have access to the entire property, except for just one locked owner’s closet.

Other things to note: Check-in time is 4:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:00 am. There is no street parking in this neighborhood. All vehicles must park in the driveway. We have 1 exterior security camera located on the driveway side of the property. No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property. $500 Minimum Smoking Fine. No pets allowed, unfortunately. We love our furry friends but ask that you leave them at home during your stay at Whispering Oaks. $700 Minimum Pet Fine.

-- THE LOCATION --
Emerald Isle is a town on Bogue Banks Island, part of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. The Bogue Inlet Pier is a popular fishing spot, with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Western and Eastern Ocean Regional Accesses are public entry points to the beach, a water sports hub. Emerald Isle Woods Park has a disc golf course and a dock, plus shoreline and forest trails, including part of the North Carolina Birding Trail. There are approximately 12 miles of bicycle paths and more than 2.5 miles of sidewalks to make it easy to move around town!

Guests interested in renting a golf cart are welcome to request to have a golf cart delivered to The Whispering Oaks House by contacting Emerald Isle Golf Cart Rental & Sales and completing the necessary paperwork. The Owners and Owners’ representatives are not affiliated with Emerald Isle Golf Cart Rental & Sales in any way, and Guests who rent golf carts do so at their own risk and agree to not hold the Owners or Owners’ representatives responsible for any damages or injuries sustained while using a golf cart, either on or off of the property.

Guests who are interested in pre-ordering groceries may consider these nearby options: Lowes Grocery on the island offers Lowes Food to Go or Delivery for a fee The Publix on the island also offers grocery pick-up or delivery The Walmart in Swansboro and Morehead both offer grocery pickup.

Weekly rentals from mid-April through mid-September, Saturday check-in/out. 3-night minimum rental during off-season (September to April). Enjoy your stay and plan for your return visit!


You will have the entire house and property to yourself. There is just one locked owner's closet. Amenities include WiFi, Smart TVs in every bedroom, plus the lounge and living room. Game room has a foosball table and hoops game. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for easy meal prep. We have provided laundry supplies, bath shampoo, conditioner and gel. Beach towels provided. Indoor and outdoor games. Outdoor shower and beach toys also provided!
