”We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together”

”The house was everything we needed, opposite a pub and the swimming pool. The villagers were very friendly and helpfull, especially in the swimming pool. Unfortunately the internet stopped working on the third day but the rental company responded out of hours to help sort it out..”

”The four of us had a wonderful stay in Dunkeld Cottage. The stone cottage was lovely - though the two tall men had to learn to duck at the kitchen door! The living spaces and bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was fantastic, with top-quality Siemens stove top and oven, a good dishwasher and much appreciated washer and dryer. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils to make cooking easy. There was salt, pepper, sugar and tea. The shower had good water pressure and...

”It's a beautiful area with stunning scenery just a short drive away. The house itself has so much character with a lovely large kitchen/dining area and big lounge. The garden is beautiful too - quiet and enclosed. We loved that you could walk to Kirkby Stephen over Frank's Bridge, which we did quite often. All in all, we had a lovely weekend.”

”The Landlord (better Landlady) has been very friendly and extremly helpful! We were sure to find the way to that house very easy with google-navy. BUT the Landlady wrote us before starting a better way to reach "The Fold" without problems. With her help we really arrived without problems. Sometimes we trusted google-navy- and suddenly we found ourselves in the darkness in between 20 sheeps in a very small briddleway. Better not to use google!!! ”An ideal quiet location with access to Penrith and the Lakes. Well appointed modern property, private parking. Host could not have been more friendly and helpfull. We did have a couple of issues with the Verbo discription verse actual facilities- however host was quick to sort out and offered us alternative very close by. Thanks for that. All in all we had a great stay and would not hesitate to book again next time we visit the lakes.”
