”The old house hotel was delightful. Good size dining room with lots of period features. The room was a good size, well appointed and freshly painted. The hall had new carpet. However the accommodation wing had hints of 1970s with roof tiled halls , diy tiled bathroom ( dangerously sharp edges), dated furniture and an uncomfortable bed with people shaped hollows. Excellent service and a fine dining experience was a highlight. ”

”I stayed in room #4 - on the top floor. It's quite quirky, but very charming. Everything was clean and tidy and excellent facilities. ”There is parking behind the waitrose and staff walked us there after their shift had ended to ensure we understood the parking App since tomorrow is the Farmers Market on High Street and we would have to move the vehicle early. Now it’s all sorted and paid in advance. Of course it’s an older hotel and everything is crooked and settled, but you should come here for that eclectic experience, as we did. I just miss the old mural that was painted in the pub before, replaced by a more modern map. ”
