”We booked Mary's wonderful house for a weekend away in December for a catch up with old friends (12 of us in total). We had an amazing time and really recommend the house. It has lots of character from being an old pub called The Star and the rooms were really comfy with almost all of them having their own ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious for cooking even for 12 people and we loved the fireplace and piano in the main living room. We didn't get out much due to storms...

”This tasteful and well appointed chalet with great facilities is very close to the seafront, which you reach through a nice back garden. Swimming here was great as the shelf is quite steep so you get a good amount of time either side of high tide. The place itself is a pleasure to stay in and we can't wait to come again.”

”Wir (Mein Mann, ich und unsere drei Töchter, davon ein Teenager und zwei erwachsen) waren über Silvester in diesem schönen Cottage. Die Lage war perfekt, ruhig, aber die Innenstadt ist in wenigen Minuten erreichbar, ein Waitrose und ein Tesco Express ebenfalls. Dazu organisiert der Vermieter im Vorhinein einen überwachten Parkplatz, der nur 200 m entfernt ist, so dass man sich darum nicht kümmern muss. Bei der Ausstattung hat nichts gefehlt, alles war wie beschrieben bzw. noch besser...

”We stayed for two nights, and found the apartment comfortable, well equipped, and in a lovely location by the sea. The view made the stairs worth the climb. Close to many interesting historical sites, beautiful areas for hiking, and several lovely restaurants. Communication with the property manager was great- quick and informative responses. Overall, highly recommend as a place to stay when exploring the Dover region.”

Spa room is lovely but can get overcrowded so maybe not quite as romantic / peaceful as you want. Lack of hanging space (robes) in the Spa.
