”Cultivar Lodge was lovely! Hotels.com had placed four adults into a 15m2 room, but luckily the lovely staff at Cultivar was able to organise us bigger apartment. The apartment (Pinotage) was just perfect. The view was amazing, room beautifully decorated and customer service excellent! Nevertheless, it is good to understand that there is no food available after 5 pm. The closest winery / restaurant is within 10 min drive and table reservation is needed. ”

”What a lovely place. We throughly enjoyed our stay - ideal location for getting the tram to a number of favourite vineyards. Everywhere in town is walking distance - perfect for leaving your car and enjoy the wines. An extra mention of praise is the staff, my fiancée left her glasses behind and they made the effort to return them safely by post.”

”Our room was beautiful with a spectacular view. The staff could not be more helpful. The shuttle bus was a bonus that we didn’t expect. The food was delicious. The only minor downside was the colour (grey) and size of the pool - although it was always spotlessly clean it appeared a bit murky. However, it wasn’t - it was just that it was painted grey. ”

”Sadly there were two very big problems with Whale Rock. 1. It was about 200yds from a huge and filthy township. The approach was through this which was very frightening. We felt it dangerous to go out unless by car. 2. It is advertised as per person, so be careful when booking. We didn’t realise and were surprised when we were charged almost £200 a night, which is definitely way over the top for this place, which is not spectacular and so close to a township. ”
