”The house is a charming log cabin located deep in the woods of a sparsely populated part of Mt Desert Island. It has a nice but small private pond behind the house. The house is overall nice, but definitely has some quirks and inaccurate listing details. Contrary to the listing, it does NOT have a hot tub. The upstairs bathroom has the most unusual “bath tub” I have ever seen - it is about 30”x30” and nearly 3’ deep. It is so tall they had to build a step next to it to get in. I would NOT want...

”We ended up finding this location at the very last minute. IT WAS PERFECT! There was a snafu with our VRBO reservation and we were unable to get in. Once we hopped onto Hotels.com and did a search for something a family of 5 could stay in near Bar Harbor during the busiest time for the area, this house in Acadia popped up. We were so LUCKY it was available. The price was reasonable and we could immediately check in. So easy! Thank you to the host family who has placed this location on...

”Very nice country home with a beautiful yard and fire pit! It was a nice easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Everything was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The host was delightful and quick with responses to my questions. The host was also very helpful with the favorites list they provided. We tried a couple of the faves and they were excellent and are now my favorites. Will definitely come back to this one.”

”We were very pleased with this home and all the amenities provided. The beds were very comfortable! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. We enjoyed having the firepit to sit around at night. The host responded immediately when i called with a question. ”

”I fell in love with this cottage the moment we pulled into the driveway. I knew the second I stepped inside we were in for a magical stay, and we were. We adored everything about this dreamy old gal. My favorite thing was the porch for morning coffee and afternoon happy hour. It is centrally located between Belfast and Camden so you will never be short of things to do. That is if you can talk yourself off of that dreamy porch. ”

”This place is in a wonderful location. Wooded and right on water. The walk to th shore is made of wood steps. The shore is just peaceful and so natural. With all those little creature in the water and under the seaweeds. The sunrise and sunset over the water is mesmerizing. The deck is so memorable to sit with family and chat. ”This was our second stay at the cottage and it was everything we remembered from our first trip. It feels very secluded and peaceful but is walkable to town and the restaurants and shops of Southwest Harbor. Beds are comfy and there is everything you would need in the house, including many games and books in the laundry area which was very nice ”

”We enjoyed our stay in Alan’s cozy cottage. It is beautiful. It had such a comfortable bed (the bed should have its own five star rating!). The kitchen was well equipped with essentials for us such as coffee maker, filters, mugs, plates, microwave, and more. It was a great place to come back to after days of exploring Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. Alan is a very responsive host and we enjoyed meeting him.”
