”Had a great stay at the Royal hotel, we were given a recently refurbished room, even though we had a dog with us. The room was lovely and modern with everything you might need. The hotel is currently in the process of being updated so the bar area was unavailable although a small bar has been moved into the small room at the front of the hotel. There is seating outside the front of the hotel with complimentary blankets to keep you warm. Obviously the new bar will be a great addition soon. ...

”The location was close to the harbour area and the room was lovely. The only downside was that the room was on the second floor of an old Victorian 3 storey house and the stairs were a feat in themselves. Also the parking was difficult to sort out as we had to drive to the tourist information building in the town down by the harbour. Once sorted, parking outside the property was easy. The main reception area was welcoming and had lots of complimentary breakfast cereals and hot drinks available....

”This was a great hotel, in that it was old, and rustic in a good way. Lovely setting by a brook. The food was excellent. Good friendly bar area. Open fire, very dog friendly. The beds and bed limen and showers were very clean and comfortable. Just bits of dust on the skirting and a bit tired in places. Rooms had tea and coffee and a welcoming snack for both people and their pet friends Would definitely stay again . ”

”Second visit to this lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and clearly passionate about making your stay memorable. Room was spacious and cosy, Food was amazing and exciting, always great seeing a full restaurant. Good selection of beers and I think I counted 42 bottles of gin tantalise the taste buds. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxed. Having my dog with me, the hotel is very dog friendly and a lovely welcome pack with them in the bedroom and breakfast bowls by the tables. I can’t recommend...

”Absolute brilliant stay. I can't fault a thing. Thoroughly recommend a stay here. Hosts are brilliant. Breakfast was excellent. Superb room.”

”Great to see whats been done since my last visit last January. Cocktail bar is a lovely addition and the out side space is now modern and will be busy in the summer to sit out and sip one of the cocktails whlist overlooking the sea . The room was beautiful. Sea view , robes, Dyson hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities and a complimentary Whitby Gin and a bottle of tonic along with bottles of Harrogate water . Eveything was clean and well thought out. Staff friendly and welcoming. ”

”Beautiful Georgian house in good location, walking distance into the Town, and to all local restaurants and sights. Comfortable room with large modern shower/bathroom. Host was very friendly and helpful with local information and advice. Lots to see, many good eateries, and good local transport if you wish to get out along the coast.”
