”We were met by a very friendly and helpful receptionist and this set the positive scene that was repeated by all the staff we met for the whole of the visit. The food was excellent along with the service that came with it. The hotel is as expected ie an old building in need of some repair that was full of atmosphere and history. ”Nice clean family room, exactly as the pictures showed, perfectly functional room. Nice breakfast, served until 10 , which is nice if you’re a bit lazy in the morning! Great location, bang in the middle of town , 10 mins walk to the castle, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The bar prices were quite steep (£7.35 a pint!!) but the cocktails were reasonably priced. There’s plenty of options in town. The jewel in the crown for this hotel is the pool area. It’s really wonderful, beautifully...

”Valitsimme Victoria hotellin edullisen Ekonomy -huoneen ja missän vaiheessa ei käynyt ilmi että huoneet eivät sijaitse hotellissa vaan erillisessä "lisäsiivessä" kauniin hotellirakennuksen takana. Lisäsiipeen käveltiin jäätävän kylmää, kolkkoa käytävää pitkin eräänlaiseen parakkirakennukseen joka oli kauttaaltaan vino. Netti ei toiminut peräkammarissa eikä lämmintä vettä tullut. ”Hotellin sijainti oli hyvä aivan rantakadulla. Hotelli oli siisti ja aamiainen hyvä. Ainoa huono puoli oli pysäköinti: ahtaalla takapihalla vain pari paikkaa. Myöhemmin selvisi, että kadun varrelle hotellin eteen olisi voinut pysäköidä edulliseen päivähintaan. Hintaansa nähden hyvä hotelli.”
